Juniors: Grade 4 – 9

At EDU360, our College phase offers Junior students from Grade 4-9 the opportunity to pursue their academic foundations through a combination of carefully selected and sourced curriculums for the greatest accessibility and relevance to higher academic study.

Seniors: Cambridge IGCSE & AS Levels

Our senior students from Grade 10 – 12 study the internationally recognised Cambridge IGCSE and AS Level programmes. These qualifications prepare students for university and college admission both locally and abroad, developing the skills, independence, and academic rigour needed for future success.

What are the IGCSE and AS Levels?

The International General Certificate of Secondary Education (iGCSE) is typically completed in Years 10–11 (South African Grades 10–11). It provides a broad foundation across core subjects and prepares students for advanced study.
The Advanced Subsidiary (AS) Level, completed in Year 12-13 offers greater subject depth and can serve as a stand-alone qualification or as the first step toward full A Levels.
Both qualifications are assessed through external Cambridge examinations only, with no continuous school-based assessments. Exam sessions are held in May/June and October/November, with some papers written from September.

Academic Requirements

To progress from College Junior Phase into the Senior iGCSE programme, students should demonstrate:

A minimum of 60% in English, Mathematics, and Science.
Reading and writing skills at Grade 9 level or above.
The emotional maturity to manage exam pressure.
Independence, organisational ability, and consistent homework completion.

Academic and Emotional Demands

The Cambridge curriculum moves at a fast pace, requiring students to stay on top of a detailed, concept-rich syllabus. Success relies on:
• Regular, independent revision and practice
• Application and problem-solving over rote learning
• Extended writing and critical thinking in every subject
• Resilience and time management to meet strict deadlines

Teachers offer close guidance and feedback, but students must take ownership of their progress. Missed lessons or late submissions have a direct impact on performance.

Examinations and Access Arrangements

Cambridge exams are set and marked internationally, with fixed dates that cannot be changed. Missing an exam means waiting for the next session – usually six months later.
Access arrangements (such as extra time) can be applied for with an educational psychologist’s report, but approval is not automatic.

Parent Partnership and Subject Choice

The step up from Grade 9 to IGCSE is significant. Parents play a vital role in helping students manage their workload, maintain study routines, and stay accountable. EDU360 preselects subject combinations designed to keep future pathways open and support the success of diverse learners.
